Free-Will-Lens-As-Mental-Model
Things should make sense both in a world with and without free will. Look at things through the lens of people having and then of people NOT having free will. Any worldview or ethical/political system should be be robust to the presence/absence of free will, given that we dont know for sure if we have it (although we probably dont)
Follow-ups
- Examples of where this is useful: for prison reform / your attitudes toward others.
- Does a habit/practice make sense in both a world with and without free will.
- We don't know if we really have free will. (although I would guess we probably don't).
