CMU HGC Mac Meeting 3 June 2025

CMU HGC Mac Meeting 27 May 2025]]

Jessica

Firstly, please welcome Jacques to the group. I have started to add Jacques to the shared Google Drive and

Calendars, Bioraft, etc. Please let me know if there is anything else I need to do for onboarding.

Particulate counter project has been handed off to the undergrads:

I switched out the HB PUT feet for CuW baseplates and will finish the senor feet this afternoon

FMS estimates end of this week for the chiller power socket

Current estimate is over $400, which is mostly labor (parts alone are $20)

Notes for Wednesday have been started:

The zipline is almost done. I should be able to determine pick and place bias shortly afterwards.

While waiting for the zipline, I started estimating consumables. It's cheapest to order epoxy supplies (syringes,

pistons, mixing nozzles, etc) in bulk. While discussing with UCSB, we're confident that one full 5cc syringe covers 4 modules. However, the epoxy starts to harden 10-20 minutes after dispensing. Susanne wants me to test gluing 2 modules at a time with one syringe (i.e., one syringe per tray) vs. 4 modules at a time with one syringe. One syringe per 4 modules saves about $3500. I will be sure to verify that we have the funds before placing any consumable orders.

The mini gantry appears to be sending a signal to the RPi. We might need to amplify the signal to get it into the

3.3V - 5V range?

On a personal note, in addition to my son's 18 month checkup tomorrow:

I will be on campus at normal hours (8 am to 5 pm) and present on Wednesday.
