Modules Summary March 2026

At UCSB, the production of modules is ongoing (see counts below). The assembly rate is ramping from 8 to 12 modules/day using 217 HD full v3D hexaboards. Placement accuracy and electrical tests all look good. Lots of work on the MMTS thermal testing system which is nearly ready — PLC installed and communicating, plumbing nearly complete, but dry air is a lingering issue (can only reach −40°C dew point) requiring possible addition of a membrane dryer.

At CMU, the production of modules is ongoing (see counts below). We have achieved assembly rates of 12 modules/day and are confident we could reach 16, with all hands. A major priority this month has been the setup of the MMTS. This has proceeded reasonably well, but much assembly, debugging, and information gathering work was needed to understand it. We are at the point where we can take a few cold IV curves at a time. The next step is to scale up.
