We can do this analysis .,.. !!!!
(Turns out this ahd the wrong x-section by a factor of 2)- CMS results https://arxiv.org/pdf/2407.10896
- Seems to requre >= 7 jets
We see most signal at lower multiplicities
- It would be worthing making svb plot in jet-mult bins
- 4,5,6,7,8>=9
- maybe they just fucked up the nJet cut
- Is it possible the existing CMS analysis is this sub-optimal ? Or does this mean we have a bug ?
- we can show we are not crazy by making your SvB plot after the >= 7 jets cut
- this should look not far off of thiers
- then we have a clear/clean story for why we expect to be much better
- … most of the signal is nJet 5 and 6 !
all of this starts with the MEM, if I would guess, I guess that they start with njets>7 and they never cheked because the combinatorics explode if you dont have at least one reco object link to the gen object

Evolution of Silicon Sensors for HEP
Chapter 1
Silicon sensors have a very good intrinsic energy resolution: for every 3.6 eV released by a particle crossing the medium, one electron–hole pair is produced. Compared to about 30 eV required to ionize a gas molecule in a gaseous detector, one gets 10 times the number of particles in silicon.
Average energy loss of MIP in 300 um of Si is ~300 eV/um, => ~100 e-h pairs / um
