#1 priority for department should be AI for physics institute
- Benifits the whole department and plays into CMU strengths
- From Particle POV EIC fits this nicely
- Medium Energy group is excited about this oppurunity
- Group has history/expertise in this kind of physics their obvious next step
- Brings access to big data / serves the rest of the department well eg: detector development / computing / UG students research ect
- Joint Hires: maybe 1+1 > 2 x 0.5 ?
- Current Computing model not working. If we want to grow AI this will need to be thought through carefully.

Investigating youbikey lighting up
Quick how-to:
- Next time the YubiKey blinks/lights up: run tail -50 ~/ClaudeBrain/logs/yubikey-watch.log (or just tell me and I'll grab it). The lines closest to the blink time will name the requesting process.
- To stop the watcher later: kill $(cat ~/ClaudeBrain/logs/yubikey-watch.pid).
- The log will accumulate forever if left running — fine for a few hours/days, but truncate it (> ~/ClaudeBrain/logs/yubikey-watch.log) if it gets large.
Note: predicate filters on eventMessage CONTAINS "YubiKey|Yubico|FIDO|U2F|PIV|smartcard|ctkpcscd|scdaemon|CryptoTokenKit". If a process talks to the key without using any of those keywords (rare), we'll miss it — but that covers ~all real cases.
